This spring, The Mill celebrates a decade of supporting Wilmington’s business community and unveils a refreshed fourth floor, ready for teams seeking move-in-ready, flexible office space. From floor to ceiling, the updated space features fresh finishes, acoustically improved offices and conference rooms, and stylish fixtures designed to boost both productivity and comfort.
“Our fourth floor is back online and better than ever,” says Rebecca Hidalgo, Operations Director of The Mill. “Members and guests can now enjoy two floors of aesthetically cohesive space. Tech integrations make meetings easy, thoughtful design elements are both functional and visually appealing, and our new office options make it easier to grow your team the way you want to.”
Highlights of the refreshed fourth floor include:
- Offices: Fully carpeted for enhanced acoustics and comfort, with two new suite layouts added to the floorplan.
- Conference Rooms: Premium echo-dampening walls and carpeting, plus Barco Clickshare in every room, including Christiana and Kirkwood, for seamless screen sharing.
- Common Areas: Brighter light fixtures above and boucle barstools around the community table, plus sleek pendant lighting and new flooring throughout.
Celebrating 10 Years of The Mill
On April 1, 2016, The Mill opened its doors at Market West (formerly the Nemours Building), launching with 13,000 square feet on the fourth floor. By year four, The Mill opened a second location, and with its third floor expansion launching on February 13, 2024, the coworking space expanded to more than 104,700 square feet across both locations. What began as a one-hallway coworking community has grown into a thriving network of spaces that prioritize the members who occupy them: a growing community of diverse and inclusive go-getters who work hard, play harder, and get things done.
Today, The Mill at Market West proudly serves as the company’s flagship location in Downtown Wilmington. Spanning two floors, it features 65 private offices and 28 Dedicated Desks designed to support a range of working styles. The space is also home to Theatre N, Wilmington’s only nonprofit arthouse cinema — a 213-seat auditorium that doubles as a vibrant event venue equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection and sound.
The Mill expanded beyond the city on January 1, 2020, with the opening of The Mill Concord in Concord Plaza, offering 44 private offices and 18 Dedicated Desks. Continuing its growth across Delaware, The Mill will further extend its community-driven model downstate with a new location opening in late spring at the redeveloped Nylon Capital Center.
“We find so much joy spending time on the details in our spaces,” says Andrew Larason, Community Manager, “and our members truly notice and appreciate the atmosphere we cultivate.”
From programmers to lawyers, solopreneurs to established companies, The Mill’s community reflects the evolving needs of today’s workforce. Ten years in, The Mill remains committed to creating dynamic environments where individuals and teams can collaborate, innovate, and thrive. No matter how much The Mill grows, every space feels uniquely curated, and every community feels connected.
The Mill Seaford: New Location Opening Soon
The Mill Seaford is coming to downstate Delaware later this spring and will bring a fresh, modern coworking experience to the redeveloped Nylon Capital Center. The new location will feature 18 private offices, 28 open-air desks, conference rooms, phone booths, and a spacious community hub — all thoughtfully designed to support productivity, collaboration, and connection. Members will also enjoy amenities including pantry access, mail service, printing capabilities, and high-speed WiFi.
“When we started The Mill nearly a decade ago, we believed coworking could be a catalyst for community and economic growth. Bringing The Mill to Seaford is a chance to extend that mission into Sussex County and be part of the incredible transformation happening at the Nylon Capital Center. I’m excited to see entrepreneurs, remote workers, and growing teams come together here and build something special,” says Robert Herrera, Founder of The Mill.
For a limited time, new office and desk members at The Mill Seaford can receive 50% off their first six months, making Spring the perfect time to explore the space. Availability is limited, so book a tour to see why The Mill is becoming a dynamic and inspiring home for Wilmington and downstate teams alike.
