A Space That Makes Cents for Balancing Books and Strengthening Businesses

After years of experience, Taz Farooque, President of Zagz Accounting Solutions, set out to support “the little guys,” bringing high-level financial services to small business owners who need it most. “The accounting firm I worked for [after college] provided services to large corporations. I saw how those services were beneficial. That inspired me to create a service for the little guys who were running small businesses. I know from experience how hard running a small business can be so I wanted to help ease some of that burden.”

That mindset is reflected throughout his office. A black and gold color palette ties the space to his brand, while family photos, Philly sports memorabilia, and a centerpiece painting created by his wife add personality and meaning. Together, these elements create a workspace that feels both intentional and personal. We asked Taz a few questions about his space, see what he shared:

THE MILL: Share your experience as a member at The Mill.
TAZ: It has been great. I like the community a lot. I have been a part of a few different shared offices but this one seems warmer.

THE MILL: What makes the space uniquely yours?
TAZ: I like a neat workspace. I also love sports and my family. My office has a piece of everything that inspires me as soon as I walk in the door. It helps with my “why” every day I am here.

THE MILL: How does your work style influence how you set up your space?
TAZ: I always have a lot going on so the name of the game for me is organization. This office is organized to reflect that.

THE MILL: Who or what inspired your office design?
TAZ: I saw a few other spaces in here and took little bits of them into my space.

THE MILL: What colors, textures, or décor elements did you choose, and why?
TAZ: My logo is black and gold. I try to keep those colors throughout.

THE MILL: Describe your favorite view or setup in your office.
TAZ: The large art piece is the center of the back wall. It is a painting done by my wife. I love her work.

THE MILL: What advice would you give others looking to personalize their office?
TAZ: Try to create a space that helps you wake up and get to work!
