Meet Our Interns: Rachel MacKelcan

By websites@tappnetwork.com

Rachel MacKelcan is one of The Mill’s interns this summer. She’s currently a rising senior at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, majoring in major English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Business Marketing. Rachel hopes to graduate next spring with a double major in English and Business.

Before Rachel joined us at The Mill, she worked at El Diablo Burritos in Trolley Square. She also held four positions on the Merrimack campus including head editor on two publications, comic artist, writing tutor, and referee. Outside work, Rachel spends much of her time on the track. She currently competes for Merrimack on a Division II level as a member of the throws squad. Holding school records in the weight (top) and hammer throw (second).

In her free time, Rachel enjoys hanging out with friends, working out, traveling, and learning as much as she can about the world around her. She aspires to be a published novelist as well as a successful business woman. But for now, she’s taking time to focus more on internships, education, and diversifying her writing portfolio by writing plays, poetry, and short stories rather than rushing to edit her novels.

As an intern this summer, Rachel plans to work hard and get the most out of her experience. So feel free to reach out to her at any time, say hello and let her know if there is anything she can do to help!
