Douglas Kook is a Certified Public Accountant and Managing Partner at the accounting firm, Bumpers & Company. As a CPA, Douglas specializes in providing accounting, tax, and advisory services and stops by The Mill to get some work done when he is in downtown Wilmington.
When asked how the accounting industry is evolving, Douglas notes that businesses are working towards goals of better staff retention, incorporating new ideas and business plans, dealing with changing tax and accounting regulations, finding ways to differentiate themselves from competitors, and keeping up to speed with technological changes impacting their clients businesses and accounting systems.
Like many of us here, Douglas enjoys working at The Mill due to its “flexibility, networking opportunities, as well as the chance to learn about the ever-evolving technology in the area.”
In his free time, Douglas enjoys sports and has played baseball for most of his life. And when asked for a fun about his company, he said “We have been around since 1922, and we don’t make bumpers for cars.”
