Dan Green is the owner of Exigent Consulting Services, a business that offers healthcare IT and business intelligence solutions. He’s a native of Delaware who recently returned after spending many years out of state.
The self-confessed nerd, who is interested in gaming and comics, entered the IT industry in a rather unconventional way. “I have a Bachelor’s of the Arts, did not study Computer Science at all, and would probably fail any college-level math,” he reveals. However, he began working in the industry after he did a high school work study in Wilmington at MBNA and then worked through college at a remote site doing desktop support. Since then, he’s worked in healthcare analytics for 11 years, spending 9 of those as a consultant. To date, he’s worked with about 15 health systems across the country, ranging from single hospitals to multi-state systems.
He’s no stranger to coworking, having been a member at one space in Philadelphia where he was based before returning to Delaware. Today, he spends time at The Mill as he does a lot of remote work for his clients and likes to be able to get out of the house. “I feel like I’m far more productive at a coworking space, so much so that I have to sort of reserve some work for coworking days.” He has begun being active in the local coworking scene last fall and says that he already met great people at meetups. “I’m sure I’ll be showing up more in 2018,” he says.
Dan lives with his wife, a lawyer who runs her own practice, and their dog. Apart from doing consulting work, he also volunteers with education and job training organizations.
