America runs on coffee. With 146 billion cups of coffee consumed annually, the United States is the leading consumer of this product globally. However, the country can only produce coffee commercially in two states–Hawaii and California–meaning it’s a product Americans can’t consume sustainably, a fact that Joe Lins realized.
Because of this, he began to consider how to offset the amount of coffee that Americans consume every year. This led him and Olivia Brinton to found the Little Goat Coffee Roasting Company in 2016.
The company currently supplies sustainably sourced coffee beans to restaurants, CSA farms and cafes, and a grocery store in Newark, Delaware. Moreover, they aim to educate consumers about their privilege to consume coffee and create what they call a ‘coffee consciousness’.
Now for a limited time, Little Goat is making their unique brand of organic, fair trade coffee available at The Mill. Try it out today while supplies last!
