Theatre N is planning to bring new programming, including live performances of local musicians, comedians, and storytellers to the stage, but Wilmington’s only arthouse of 20 years needs help from the community.
Join us on Friday, May 20th, from 1 – 4 pm to raise some funds while sipping on refreshing beverages and playing a mix of golf and croquet during the Nine Holes Anywhere Tournament Theatre N Fundraiser.
Tickets are $75 per person, though you can also sponsor a “hole” for $300, which gets your company name at a hole with complimentary tickets for four guests/team. There are four levels of sponsorship that get your company logo on a banner. The goal is to raise $15,000 in order to buy equipment to support live performances. It isn’t a secret that movie theaters have seriously struggled these last two years – and Theatre N is no different than other shuttered locations due to the insanity of the pandemic.
The National box office revenue fell from $11.32 billion in 2019 to $2.09 billion in 2020, and 60% of North American theaters reopened for the first time in six months in 2021 (Zippia).
The good news is that despite taking a hit from COVID-19, Theatre N has reopened and continues to provide independent films at $9 (regular price) to the community, unlike other local theaters closing their doors permanently throughout the country.N
