“I’ve always had a camera in my hand as long as I can remember,” says Courtney Kattler who, together with her husband, runs a photography business. They specialize in capturing what she calls, “sweet everyday moments to once in a lifetime celebrations,” including engagements, weddings, and family portraits. She shares, “We love lifestyle photography, telling a story through images so our clients can relive those memories over and over.” Their other services include product photography, headshots, and special events for local small businesses in between their regular event and portrait work.

Before jumping into becoming a full-time photographer, Courtney held different jobs, including working at the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. and at JPMorgan Chase in Wilmington. She made the decision to go full-time with photography at the beginning of last year says, “I haven’t looked back!”

Today, she calls The Mill home when she needs a place to work. “After leaving my corporate gig, I still needed the daily interaction with people and to get out of the house! The Mill is a great work space and exactly what I needed. Everyone is friendly and there are many other small businesses, like myself, that can relate to the daily grind. I just wish I had joined sooner!”
