Company Profile: First Ascent Design

By websites@tappnetwork.com

Our featured company this month is the team behind our new website, First Ascent Design. They help clients grow and achieve their goals through branding, graphic design, web development, and digital marketing services. The company is comprised of husband and wife duo, John and Pauline Himics, along with a small team of developers, designers, and copywriters.

First Ascent originally began their business in late 2014 at Start It Up Delaware before moving over to The Mill. In just under three years, they’ve worked with an impressive roster of clients including House Industries, the University of Delaware, Carvertise, and Ashley Biden’s new venture, Livelihood. They stay active in the local community and recently won the 2016 Delaware Innovation Award for Best Design/Dev Firm.

Outside of the office, the “Delaware tech scene’s power couple” work as adjunct marketing professors for the University of Delaware’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship. Pauline is also a chapter founder for Girl Develop It Wilmington, a nonprofit that provides affordable classes for women to learn web and software development.
